Tender, smoky pork with almost no work. This is the kind of recipe worth keeping in your back pocket. Rub a pork roast with Delta Dust, put it in the slow cooker and let time do the rest. By dinner, you'll have tender, flavorful pork ready to pile...

Ingredients
- 3–4 lb boneless pork shoulder or pork butt
- 3-4 Tbsp Fennel & Fire Delta Dust
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- ½ cup apple cider, apple juice, or beef broth
- 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup BBQ sauce, plus more for serving
Directions
Combine 2 Tbsp of Delta Dust and brown sugar and rub it all over the pork.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. This step is optional, but adds great flavor.
Place the sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker and set the pork on top. Pour the apple cider and apple cider vinegar around the pork.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8–10 hours, until the pork is very tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
Transfer the pork to a cutting board and shred with two forks. Discard excess fat.
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker, sprinkle with remaining Delta Dust and toss with about ½ cup BBQ sauce and a few spoonfuls of the cooking juices. Add more sauce if you like it saucier, or leave the sauce if you like it dry.
