A beautiful loaf of sourdough from the farmers market. A few perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes. Crispy bacon. Fresh lettuce. A sprinkle of Veggie Heaven.
Sometimes that's all it takes to make an everyday meal feel special.
I finish every BLT with a sprinkle of Veggie Heaven, and it transforms a simple sandwich into something truly memorable. The herbs brighten the sweetness of the tomatoes, add depth to every bite, and bring the whole sandwich together.
It's a reminder that great food doesn't have to be complicated—especially this time of year.
One of my favorite things about summer is that the ingredients do most of the work. A beautiful loaf of sourdough from the farmers market, thick slices of perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, good-quality mayonnaise, and Veggie Heaven are all you need to make everyday lunch feel special.
The secret isn't another ingredient—it's the finishing sprinkle of Fennel and Fire Veggie Heaven. It brings the herbs to life, highlights the sweetness of the tomatoes, and ties every bite together.
Sometimes the simplest summer meals are the ones you remember most.
Place four strips of bacon (two per sandwich) on aluminum covered baking sheet. Place in cold oven. Set oven temp to 400 degrees. Bake bacon for around 14 min- 20 min (dependent on thickness of bacon) until golden crispy. Once cooked, remove from sheet pan onto paper towel to cool.
Prepare Ingredients
Wash and dry tomato. Slice the heirloom tomatoes into ½ inch slices.
Wash Romain Lettuce Leaf. Remove base, dry leaves, and set aside.
Cut four slices of Sourdough bread between ¼ - ½ inch thick.
Assemble Sandwich
Spread a generous layer of mayonnaise on each slice of toasted sourdough. Layer with lettuce, thick slices of heirloom tomato, a generous sprinkle of Veggie Heaven, crispy bacon, another lettuce leaf, and finish with the remaining slice of bread.
Recipe Note
Tay's Tip
Don't season the tomatoes with salt—let Veggie Heaven do the work. It gives you herbs, garlic, onion, and just enough seasoning without overpowering the fresh tomatoes.
